This 6,453-yard beauty plays to a 135 slope by punishing errant tee shots and handsomely rewarding patient iron play. And once you’ve reached the green, stay focused, because you’ll soon be convinced you’re playing a tour-quality course. The greens roll brutally honest and lightning fast, so staying below the hole is the key to scoring well.
The course closed in 2017.
Highlands Golf Course was owned by The Elks until 2011 when it was sold to Steve Scheuermann. Steve sold the property to Third Coast Development for $2.6 million on February 1, 2017. Within less than a week, the developer immediately sold the property for about $3.5 million to Blandford Nature Center and the Land Conservancy of West Michigan. The organizations plan to restore the course to nature, develop trails and create public programs.
